Pezhead Monthly
May the Fourth Be With You

May 4th is known around the world, or at least to geeks such as myself, as Star Wars Day. This is because it gives us the opportunity to say "May The Fourth Be With You" to the delight of each other and to the confusion of most everyone else.

Over the years, there has been a variety of Pez-related Star Wars features on the pages of Pezhead Monthly. And, in my personal Pez collection, there are many Star Wars items as well. And now, they are all gathered here in what I am affectionally calling the Pez Eisley Cantina. Enjoy!

Questions, Episode V: The Pezhead Strikes Back | top of page

Darth Pez and His KidsDarth Vader Pez- The second "Five Questions" feature to ever appear in Pezhead Monthly, and still one of my favorites.

R2D2 Pez (with special guest translator C3P0 Pez)- Oh, those wacky droids. And they are even wackier as Pez dispensers.

Emperor Palpatine Pez- "[In eviler-than-usual voice] How about a Pez, young Jedi? Just take it, you cannot resist its powers! [Interviewer takes a Pez] Yes, that's it. Heh heh heh. Yes, yes! Feel the power of the Pez.

Darth Maul Pez- He may have been cut in half, but he's not bitter. However, he is quite loose with the puns.

You Will Never Find A More Wretched Hive Of Pez Almost-Quotes | top of page

"Dispense or dispense not. There is no try."

"I find your lack of Pez disturbing."

"Join me, and together we can rule the galaxy as collector and dispenser."

"Help me Pez dispensers, you're my only hope."
"Pez is the way." "I am a Pezhead. Like my father before me."
"Once you start down the Pez collecting path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will."

Aren't You A Little Short for a Pez Poem? | top of page

Pez Haiku #44

Thank you, Hungary,
For taking the time to make
My Boba Fett Pez.

Pez Haiku #50

The new Star Wars Pez
Have at last arrived in store.
The Pez force is with us.

Pez Haiku #82

Giant Vader Pez,
You loom atop my PC,
Standing while you Sith.

Pez Haiku #123

Star Wars on Blu Ray?
It's tempting, but I will pass.
Star Wars Pez? Sure thing.

Pez Haiku #140

The new year will bring
New Avengers, new Star Wars,
And of course new Pez.

Pez Haiku #152

Light side or dark side?
The answer, young Padawan,
Is always Pez side.

Rhoda

There once was a Pezhead named Rhoda
Who made her way to Minnesota,
And her sole intention
At that Pez convention
Was purchasing a Crystal Yoda.

Vader

There once was a Pezhead named Vader,
A dreadful, imposing dictator,
But alas, this dark Sith
Found his true joy with
His Pez, for there was nothing greater.

Pez Haiku #179

My Star Wars display
May not contain vintage Pez,
But it takes me back.

A Force of Their Own

So there I was, eating at Qdoba,
And thinking about my homeboy Boba.
His first Pez appearance was in '98,
That Fett, you bet he was truly great.

And just last week, watching Butthead and Beavis,
Who came to mind but General Grievous!
He came on the Pez scene in 2005,
"Hello there!" I said when he finally arrived.

Life sure was sweet when Pez released Lando,
And a couple years later, along came our Mando!
And The Child was with him, 'twas so neatly planned,
And who do we have here? Well, it's Fennec Shand!

And let's not forget about that detailed tin,
In the shape of the splendid Millenium Falcon!
In 2017, it joined the Pez fun
Fresh off its win in that Kessel Run.

The giants! The POP Pez! So many, methinks!
A motorized Pez scene with Jar Jar Binks!
The holiday Grogus! The Disney 100s!
Will it ever end? I often have wondered.

These Star Wars dispensers were just a new hope
A long time ago, and far far away,
But now they are here, a Force of their own,
A beloved part of our Pez displays.

Mace Windu (by way of Yoda)

There once was a Pezhead, Mace Windu,
His hobby he really was into.
The Force did he use,
No Pez he refused,
So many conventions he’s been to.

Leia

There once was a Pezhead named Leia,
With quite an impressive display, yeah.
And you bet your buns
That she had rare ones,
Including a boxed Football Player.
