Pezhead Monthly: Pezamania 16 Tote Bag, thanks very much for joining us. From what I hear you were quite the topic of conversation at this year's Pezamania. And really, how could you not be, what with "Pezamania" custom embroidered upon you in bright colors! How does it feel to suddenly become a part of Pez lore?

Pezamania 16 Tote Bag: I gotta say, the feeling is incredible. All it took was one weekend and the hard work of several devoted Pezheads and I became a hot item. No offense to PBS, but there's a new tote bag in town, baby.

PM: I can tell that you are quite excited, Pezamania 16 Tote Bag. What is so fabulous about being you?

PTB: Well, for one, I come jam-packed with all kinds of items to aid and enthrall Pezheads as they embark on their collecting journey. There's a t-shirt, of course. And there's also a lanyard for the registration badge for Pezheads to wea around their neck, so as not to damage their new Pez t-shirt with pin holes. How cool is that! I also come with a Pez calculator, so that Pezheads can see exactly how much they are spending throughout the weekend. And for those who are electronically challenged, I also come with a Pez notepad and pen. I'll tell you what, whoever put me together really put some thought into it.

PM: I'd say so! Is there anything else in there?

PTB:Oh, tons more. There's a nice Pezamania pin, and also a money clip- let's face it, the cash flies fast and furious at Pez conventions, and this is a great way to keep it organized. Then there are feet for the non-footed vintage dispensers which will no doubt be purchased in the days ahead. There's some Pezamania candy too. And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the free Mega Bingo card, which gives every Pezhead who registers a chance at one of the 3 huge prizes at Pez bingo!

PM: Wow, I'm speechless. But I'm also curious, Pezamania 16 Tote Bag , besides the plethora of goodies you provide, are there any other ways that you can help Pezheads?

PTB: But of course! I mean, although I am not a Pez dispenser, I am still a Pez container. I am carried from room to room by Pezheads, and as they accumulate more and more treasures, they entrust me with the safe transport of their new-found additions. It's quite an honor to say the least.

PM: Well that goes without saying. Finally, Pezamania 16 Tote Bag, among all these great services you provide the Pez community, which one stands out to you the most?

PTB: Well, I don't mean to get sentimental here, but the people who put me together obviously did so with much forethought and, I'd wager, a little bit of love. Bless those kind folks, they rock. And what's more, I can be a valuable part of a Pezhead's convention experience for years to come as well. And should any Pezheads move on from the hobby- although I can't imagine why!- they can pass me on to their friends and family, so that I can continue to help out at Pezamania after Pezamania. Just knowing that I can help out generations of Pezheads on their future convention visits, and knowing I will be there to carry new and vintage Pez alike to the promised land of their new home in a Pez collection … it warms the very cockles of my heart. To paraphrase a certain international man of mystery, that sort of thing is my bag, baby.

Going to Pezamania each year is cause for celebration, and I wanted to capture the elation of the convention in a song.

Without further ado, here it is.

A long, long time ago
I can still remember
When I started to collect this stuff.
A Snoopy Pez, how small it seemed,
But how it crept inside my dreams,
And I knew I could never get enough

But Pez collectin' had no glory,
With no one else to share my story
The local stores I raided,
For new Pez, how I waited

I think that it was 4:05
When I had first felt so alive
And I knew that I arrived
The day I made that drive

And my, my Pezamania high
Started Thursday and I'd sure say
That I'm real satisfied
And them vintage Pez you know I'm gonna buy,
Sayin' kiss a hundred dollars goodbye,
Kiss another hundred goodbye.

Did you bring your spendin' cash,
And a box to hold the brand new stash
That will soon belong to you?
And are you prepared to soon perceive
More vintage Pez than you'd believe,
And maybe some others that are brand new?

Well I know it's just a couple days,
But it puts me into such a craze
When I get to that hotel,
I know I'm feelin' well

I'll be on the hunt for those heads and stems,
And I hope there's cash in the ATM,
Cause finding Pez was my intent
The day I made that drive.

I started singin'
My, my Pezamania high
Started Thursday and I'd sure say
That I'm real satisfied
And them vintage Pez you know I'm gonna buy,

Now it's six times I've been comin' here
And it gets better ev'ry year
And that my friends, it's safe to say
I registered with the jolly hosts,
They gave me stuff in a funky tote
And a badge to send me on my way

Oh and to the rooms I quickly moved,
I had a list, it was time to groove
So I went from floor to floor,
Lookin' for open doors,

And I saw that John was setting up,
And met with Red to see whassup,
And I looked forward to Sheryl's pup
The day I made that drive

I was singin'
My, my Pezamania high
Started Thursday and I'd sure say

In ten minutes oh I was in it,
Ninety bucks for an awesome vintage
Three rooms in and feelin' grand
My Laspina guide tight in my hand,
I soldiered on to my next command,
Where I did spend much more than I had planned

My list was set, I did assume
But then I came to Sylvia's room.
And when I found Gotdank,
Oh man, that broke the bank!

But I gotta say that it was foreseen
That I'd sell my blood to pay for gasoline
And I think you know just what I mean
If you have made that drive

We were singin'

Oh, and there were Pezheads everywhere,
For some it was the first year there,
And others who I knew from years before
So come on, what's your name and where ya from,
How many Pez do you have at home
And are you going back there with any more?

And the experts there were quite a trip
Some history and some eBay tips,
Some damaged Pez repaired,
So much knowledge shared,

And the Pezheads movie was mighty fine,
And the Bingo prizes, I was denied,
And the Cincy party was on my mind
The day I made that drive

Now Saturday soon came around,
With all the fun times winding down,
One more time on that convention floor
I looked upon the dealer's tables,
And though near broke, I was still able
To somehow have enough to shop for more

A couple more Pez were bestowed,
With one more vintage for the road.
So many hands were shaken,
Some photographs were taken

And with my wallet fully cleared
I thanked the hosts and disappeared
I know I'll see it all next year
When I will make that drive.

I'll be singin'
