Spring Loaded: A Message from the Editor top of page | cover page

Welcome to another issue of Pezhead Monthly.

This past month I picked up the new Ratatouille set, and I also spent a good deal of time rearranging my Pez display (and even added another 5-shelf bookcase!). I hope to get some pictures soon and will try to post them on the site. I have made the decision to try to sell or trade many of my doubles at this year's Pezamania convention. Although I won't be offering any vintage or particularly unique dispensers, I do plan on offering very good deals on a wide variety of carded, bagged, and loose dispensers and other Pez items, pretty much entirely from the US and from the 1990s/2000s. So look for me Thursday night at the swap event and have a look at what I've got for sale and/or trade.

In other news, I have also spent a little bit of time updating the Pezhead Monthly store, so be sure to check it out. Among the new products are a variety of t-shirts and a stylin' black baseball cap.

This issue of Pezhead Monthly features the return of the Pezhead Monthly Challenge, a 10-question quiz that requires the reader to do a little exploring of the site. But a prize of a new Pezhead Monthly t-shirt goes to the winner, so it will be worth it for you to give it a shot. Also in this issue is Five Questions for the Chef Skinner Pez dispenser, who is a member of the new Ratatouille set, and rounding things out is some Pez Poetry and this month's Pez Almost-Quote. (Speaking of which, there are now over 60 Pez Almost-Quotes! Go here for a random quote, and then reload for another, and another, and another...)

Well, that'll do it for now. Take care and see you next month!

Pezhead Monthly Challenge 2: Electric Boogaloo top of page | cover page

Back in July 2003, Pezhead Monthly offered up the first Pezhead Monthly Challenge, a 10-question quiz designed to test reader knowledge of the variety of odes to the wonder of Pez featured on this site.

Three years later, we proudly present Pezhead Monthly Challenge 2. Here's how it works:

1) Read over the 10 questions below, the answers to all of which can be found somewhere on this site with a little bit of digging.
2) Think you know the answers, smartypants? Then shoot an e-mail to me at joe@pezheadmonthly.com. (Please match the question number to each answer.)
3) The first person to answer all 10 questions correctly wins this snazzy t-shirt from the recently updated Pezhead Monthly store.
4) I will be sure to update this page when we have a winner.

Think you have what it takes to conquer Pezhead Monthly Challenge 2? Then get to it!

UPDATE: We have a winner!!! Congratulations Cheryl!

Pezhead Monthly Challenge 2 Questions:

3. Which of the following artists have not yet had a song as odes to Pez re-imagined by Pezhead Monthly?

5. What is the only Pez haiku thus far to be revisited?

6. At which of these landmarks has Fred, the Traveling Pez Dispenser, NOT appeared (that is, in the pages of Pezhead Monthly)?

A. Indianapolis Motor Speedway

7. How many songs have thus far been reimagined (parodied) as odes to Pez by Pezhead Monthly? (careful, this one is a bit tricky)

8. How many different Batman Pez dispensers did Joe add to his collection in August of 2006?

9. Name 5 Pez dispensers that Joe picked up at Pezamania 13.

10. Name three US presidential candidates (winners or losers) who are either specifically mentioned on the pages of Pezhead Monthly, or whose words were inspirations for a Pez Almost-Quote.

Remember, send your answers to me at joe@pezheadmonthly.com. Good luck!
