Happy Valentine's Day from Pezhead Monthly

Spring Loaded: A Message from the Editor

Welcome to Pezhead Monthly!

I got some really great Pez scores in January, and am very excited to share the details. But those details will have to wait for next month, as I find myself to be quite busy these days. In fact, in less than 24 hours, I will be in lovely Orlando, Florida! I am very much looking forward to visiting Disneyworld for the first time in 27 years. And hey, if there happens to be any new Pez down there? That would be cool!

For now, I would urge you to check your local CVS, Rite-Aid, Wal-mart, Walgreens, and especially Target for the four new dispensers that have been added to the Pez Valentine's family. Here is a picture of these great dispensers!

There are two other things I wanted to pass along this month. First, Pezhead Monthly has a brand new page of Valentine's Day features pulled from the archives. Second, in preparation for next month's 3rd Annual Pezzy Awards, I am adding a few new reader's choice awards. Cast your votes today! Full details are below.

Thanks for reading, and see you next month!

Love is in the air, and Pez is in the dispensers. Check out Pezhead Monthly's collection of Valentine's features from the archives, on the all-new Valentine's Day Page here!

The Pezzy Awards: Reader's Choice Awards

Next month's issue will feature the 3rd Annual Pezzy Awards, honoring the best in Pez from the previous year, without all of that red carpet mumbo jumbo.

This year, I would like to add some new awards to the mix, and I need your help! These categories will be reader's choice, meaning that YOU can vote and decide on the winners! Send your choices to me at, no later than Wednesday, February 29, 2012.

Here are the categories:

Readers Choice: 2011 Pez Set of the Year

There were many great Pez sets that came out in 2011. Which one was your favorite? To refresh your memory, here is a list of some of the notable sets:

- Marvel Heroes (Thor and Captain America)
- Cars 2 (Mater, Finn, and Lightning, in both regular and pull-and-go variations)
- Justice League (Superman, Batman, Green Lantern)
- Phineas and Ferb (and Perry)
- Lord of the Rings (regular edition and special Walmart edition with Eye of Sauron)
- US Presidents (Volume 1: 1789-1825)
- NHL Fire and Ice (Canada only)
- Hello Kitty Skulls (Europe only)
- Mr. Men (Europe only)

Reader's Choice: 2011 Pez Dispenser of the Year

There were plenty of individual dispensers  that came out in 2011. In addition to those found in the above sets, there were also new NCAA basketballs (such as University of Hawaii and Boise State), new haulers (Craftsman, Wegmans, and Shop-Rite, to name a few), new basketballs (UConn, North Carolina, and others), Toby from the Thomas the Train set, and more. Out of all of the new Pez dispensers released in 2011, which one was your favorite?

Bonus Question: My best Pez score of 2011 was ______________.

There had to be one Pez score to rule them all for you in 2011, whether it was a new set, a new dispenser, or maybe a sweet vintage dispenser or set. What was this Pez score? Where did you find it, and what made it the best? I will select 5 responses and feature them in next month's issue.

Remember, send me your votes for any and all above categories (and feel free to add reasons why you voted for each) to me at, no later than Wednesday, February 29, 2012.

Thanks for voting, and see you next month!
